2018.10.26China’s imports and exports with countries along the Belt and Road initiatives exceeded 6 trillion yuan (US$860 billion) over the first three quarters, a rise of 13.2% from a year earlier, Xinhua news agency reported.
According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Commerce, China’s export to Belt and Road countries recorded 3.38 trillion yuan, up 7.7% year-on-year. While imports were 2.7 trillion yuan, rising 20.9% from a year earlier.
Chinese enterprises have injected a total US$10.78 billion of non-financial direct investment in the Belt and Road countries over the same period of time, a rise of 12.3% from last year, said Gao Feng, ministry spokesman.
In terms of infrastructure projects, the construction of the Hinkley Point nuclear power station, the China-Laos railway and the Hungarian-Serbia railway were steadily advancing.
Up to now, Chinese enterprises have promoted the establishment of 82 overseas economic and trade cooperation zones in the countries along the initiative, and the taxes and fees paid to the host country totalled US$2.01 billion, creating 244,000 local jobs.
